| registration took forever to come online and it was hard to get hard facts about the event. Things like hotel details where question marks for long periods of time. I did my best not to bad mouth the event, in fact we opted to help out by promoting the event on our site and other sites....but it was just enough to make people driving from very far distances scared of attending. When an event seems like it will be of poor organization, I can understand how someone will not want to drive 20+ hours one way to come to event where their wallets and patience are attacked for every little thing. Unfortunately, it was a ball drop on certain things, which hasn't happened for a number of years but many other times ZCON's are the most AMAZING of shows. Examples of amazing shows were Tennessee, San Antonio (09) , Long Beach and Dallas. These shows are just a handfull of some great ZCON's that were some of the best I have ever been to. I think Phoenix is going to be one of those ZCON's that is not to be missed either, lots of impressive things coming up with that event. But, please note the amount of organization, creativitiy and hard work needed to pull off one of these. Teams/clubs that do these events never really get the credit they deserve, regardless of a bad or good show. It takes a lot to take the gamble to do one of these things. Maybe next year we will swing for the fences.
